Bombay-London Inaugural Flight
An official Air India International envelope to mark the first flight between Bombay and London on 8 June 1948.
The 12 annas stamp is cancelled with a special boxed postmark AIRMAIL / BOMBAY-LONDON / 8-6-48. On the reverse the envelope has the Air India logo on the flap, over a 12 annas stamp.
The envelope measures approximately 23cm by 10cm and the flap is stuck down.
